Q: what can i do to visit someone that is in florence jail ? and how many florence jail are ?
A: There are a few with the name "Florence" in them.  Some are county, some are state and some are federal facilities.  Check the Prison Directory on the home page for details. To visit, you need approval from the facility.  You will fill out a form and submit it (some require a small fee to run a background check). Once approved, you are permitted to visit.  Make sure to read the rules about what you can bring and how to dress.
Q: Can I set up a local number through your phone service and my friend call me to Sweden?
A: Unfortunately we cannot accommodate international calling for inmate usage. We are working diligently with our software engineers to come up with a service that will give the international member a solution. It is high on our priority list to complete and will happily place you on a growing list of people interested in this service. You can use InmateAid to write letters and send photos through our system at very reasonable rates. Your inmate can write you back through InmateAid, too. We receive the letters on your behalf and upload them to your account. You are then notified by email that your inmate has written, bypassing international postage.
Q: If I set up an InmateAid local number for my family member to call me from prison, will I still need to establish an account with money? I received a number and when he tried to call me, I got a recording again to add money.
A: InmateAid gives you a local number that you use to set up with the phone carrier - like Global Tel Link. Make sure that it's a completely separate account from your long distance account.  Add money to the new account and now the calls will be billed only a local calling charge (no per minute price) wiping out that $1.00+ per minute charge you've been paying.
Q: Why is it so hard to find out any thing about my husband. He has been in jail for two days now and i dont know if he will be released or not how can i find this out?
A: Knowing more about the case will help locate that information. What was he charged with? What jurisdiction charged him (state, federal)? Was there violence?  Sometimes when someone is arrested near the weekend, they will make them wait until Monday for arraignment. Possibly the judge was not available. You could call the facility and ask - or call the Clerk of the Court as they would know too.
Q: My boyfriend is in Stewart detention center he needs his contact lenses or his glasses. How can I sent him his lenses or glasses ?
A: Yes, inmates are allowed to have glasses or contact lenses. Glasses might be easier to care for in the event that the commissary doesn't have a good selection of eye care solution to maintain it.  Some facilities will provide eyewear for the inmates, give them an exam and the glasses  If you are going to send them, you should call the facility and let them know your intention - get a name of a staff person who will receive them and make sure your inmate gets them in a timely basis.
