The Cass Co Jail is a low/medium-security detention center located at 303 Minnesota Ave W Walker, MN which is operated locally by the Cass County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Cass County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, Walker Police Department, and the US Marshal's Service.
New detainees arrive at the jail regularly, with some being released on bail, placed under pretrial services caseloads, supervised by probation agencies, or released on recognizance with a court appearance agreement. Those who are not released await their court appearances at the jail, receiving accommodations including bedding and meals. You can see all the arrest records for Minnesota here.
The Cass County Jail, currently operating at over its 60-bed capacity, accommodates both male and female inmates for up to a year. To alleviate overcrowding, the housing capacity has been expanded through a contract with Crow Wing County, providing an additional 60 beds. Inmates are offered various programs, including opportunities to work either within or outside the Jail premises, as well as participate in the Sentence to Service work crew.
The Sentence to Service program allows qualifying inmates to engage in community projects under the supervision of governmental or non-profit organizations. Inmates volunteer for these projects, receiving reductions in their sentences or fines as the sole form of compensation. Additionally, the Jail is responsible for prisoner transports and courtroom security in addition to inmate supervision.
Cass County MN Jail publishes the names of the inmates currently in their facility in Minnesota. Your search should start with this locator first to see if your loved one is there.
