Located at 1721 E Snyder Ave in Carson City, NV, Stewart Camp carefully assigns inmates based on their custody level, considering factors like criminal history. Stewart Camp offers diverse educational and vocational programs aimed at equipping offenders for successful reintegration into society and reducing recidivism. Through these initiatives, inmates gain skills and confidence, fostering personal growth and resilience.

The Stewart Camp, initially established in 1978 and later replaced with a larger facility in 1995, is situated adjacent to the Northern Nevada Correctional Center. This camp primarily houses minimum-custody and community trustee inmates across five dormitory-style units.

With 15 Nevada Department of Corrections (NDC) staff and an additional 22 Nevada Division of Forestry (NDF) personnel stationed at SCC, the camp operates efficiently to support its inmate population and various programs.

SCC can accommodate up to 360 inmates, offering essential services and programs to support their rehabilitation and reintegration into society.

The majority of SCC's inmates work for the NDF participating in twelve-man fire crews and contributing to conservation efforts. Additionally, inmates engage in various tasks within Silver State Industries, which oversees the ranch, dairy, and Wild Horse Training Program operation. Some inmates classified as community trustees provide support services to state agencies in Carson City, Nevada.

Regarding educational opportunities, SCC enables inmates to prepare for the General Education Development (GED) test, facilitating their academic advancement and improving their prospects upon release. Moreover, the camp offers several self-help and treatment programs conducted by medical and mental health staff in the evenings, addressing the holistic needs of the inmate population.

Under the supervision of Silver State Industries, the ranch at SCC operates a commercial dairy, cultivates alfalfa, breeds and raises cattle, and cares for horses in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture and the Bureau of Land Management.
