The Putnam County TN Juvenile Detention Center is a medium to low-security detention center located at 421 E Spring St Cookeville, TN that is operated locally by the Juvenile Justice Department and holds youths awaiting the determination of punishment for the crimes which they are accused. Most of the adolescents are here for less than two years.

The Juvenile Detention Center has a total of 12 corrections officers working in shifts and 22 beds for 16 male and 6 female inmates. The center houses both status and delinquent inmates under the age of 18 arrested by local and state authorities. The average number of inmates is 16, making officer to inmate ratio 1:5. This is handled with indirect supervision and is considered a minimum-security facility.
