The Seneca Co Jail is a low/medium-security detention center located at 3040 S State Rte 100 Tiffin, OH which is operated locally by the Seneca County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Seneca County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, Tiffin Police Department, and the US Marshal's Service.

New detainees arrive at the jail regularly, with some being released on bail, placed under pretrial services caseloads, supervised by probation agencies, or released on recognizance with a court appearance agreement. Those who are not released await their court appearances at the jail, receiving accommodations including bedding and meals. You can see all the arrest records for Ohio here.

Seneca County inaugurated its present facility in May of 1994, initially equipped with 62 beds. Subsequently, in February of 2007, the jail underwent expansion, introducing an additional 60-bed direct supervision unit and a 40-bed dorm-style housing unit to accommodate its growing needs.

The Corrections Division stands as the largest segment within the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office, comprising 46 full-time correction officers. Tasked with managing the jail's operations, this division also oversees the registration of sex offenders and provides court security across the county's three courts, in addition to transporting offenders to and from court proceedings.

During their incarceration at the Seneca County jail, offenders are afforded opportunities for educational advancement, including the chance to obtain their GED if necessary. Moreover, provisions are made for individuals to practice their faith while detained.

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office adheres to a "zero tolerance" policy regarding inmate sexual assault/abuse, committing to creating a safe, humane, and secure environment, devoid of the threat of sexual misconduct. Any incidents or suspicions of sexual abuse, harassment, or retaliation can be reported to any staff member verbally or in writing, with assurances that there will be no retaliation for such reports.

Incarcerated individuals at the Seneca County jail have the opportunity to pursue their basic education, including obtaining their GED if necessary, and practice their faith while serving their sentences.

Visitation Information

Visits

The visitation schedule is Tuesday, Thursday & Sunday between the hours of 8:30 am to 10:30 am; 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm; and 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm. Inmates/detainees are permitted one (1) thirty (30) minute visit per available visitation day.

The Sheriff's Office provides visitation via video. There are onsite and offsite options available. Onsite equipment is located in our lobby. An account with Cidnet will need to be established before a visitation can be scheduled.
