The Walworth Co Jail is a detention center located at 1770 County Road NN Elkhorn, WI which is operated locally by the Walworth County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Walworth County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, Elkhorn Police Department, and the US Marshal's Service.
New detainees arrive at the jail regularly, with some being released on bail, placed under pretrial services caseloads, supervised by probation agencies, or released on recognizance with a court appearance agreement. The current Walworth County Jail was built on the north side of Highway NN in the Town of Geneva as a 398-bed facility. An addition to the building in 2003 brought the bed space up to the current total of 512 beds. The Sheriff's Office/Jail was annexed into the City of Elkhorn in 2002 when the Judicial Center was relocated to the County complex.
The facility holds both male and female inmates in direct supervision housing units. Subjects arrested for any criminal/traffic offense, from failure to pay a fine to murder in the first degree, are held in the county jail pending sentencing or bond/bail arrangements. Although you cannot currently be sentenced to the county jail in the State of Wisconsin for more than one year per charged offense, those facing serious charges are often held for longer periods of time due to the length of the trial process.
The civilian jail staff of dedicated public servants manage the day to day operations of the jail. Staff ensures that all inmates, staff, and visitors are kept safe and secure, while maintaining and observing all federal, state and local laws.
How do Jail incarcerated inmates receive money?
Family and friends of inmates housed at the Walworth County Jail/Huber are able to deposit cash money or credit/debit card deposits into inmate commissary accounts utilizing the Cash Acceptor located in the Huber lobby of the Walworth County Sheriff's Office.
Cash deposits may be made in the Cash Acceptance Kiosk 24 hours a day, seven days a week. there is a convenience fee charged to the person depositing money for this service. Family and friends will have to know the inmate SPN (Specific Person Number) or correct complete name with date of birth.

Do inmates have television available to them?
Yes, provided they conduct themselves properly and are not unruly.
Are religious services available?
Yes, services are conducted live each Sunday and broadcast throughout the facility on closed-circuit television. In addition, clergy may visit inmates during Professional Visit times.
Do inmates have access to any type of educational programs?
Yes, a G.E.D. program is offered in the facility through Gateway Technical College. A certified instructor is on staff and meets with inmates that qualify for the program.
There are also AA, AODA, and Alternatives to Violence programs available for inmates.
WALWORTH COUNTY CORRECTIONS DIVISION HUBER INFORMATION
INSTRUCTIONS: You are required to serve a term of confinement in the Walworth County Huber Dorm/Work Release Center commencing on (date) at 8:00 A.M. or before. To schedule an early report date you must contact (262) 741-4580 and ask to speak to a Huber Sergeant. YOU MUST REPORT ON TIME AND HAVE A .00% BLOOD ALCOHOL AND CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE LEVEL.
Please allow 2-3 hours for processing time once you arrive at the facility. You will be orientated as to the rules and regulations of the Walworth County Huber Dorm/Work Release Center. You will be allowed to go to work upon completion of your orientation. While on active Huber Law, you must turn over all earnings to the Sheriff of Walworth County pursuant to Wisconsin State Statute 303.08(3). From those wages, board and financial obligations will be deducted and the balance of those wages deposited in a personal account. An amount necessary for personal expenses will be returned to you on a scheduled basis. Your board amount has been set by Walworth County under Ordinance No.139; it is the policy of the Walworth County Huber Dorm/Work Release Center to collect this fee one week in advance. UPON ARRIVAL AT THE HUBER DORM YOU ARE REQUIRED TO BRING THE AMOUNT OF $151.00. IF YOU ARE SELF-EMPLOYED YOU MUST BRING $320.00 WHEN TURNING YOURSELF IN. If you are self-employed you must bring verification of that status. Tax returns from previous years, Tax ID numbers, and business cards should be brought with you on your report-in day. The only personal items that you are allowed to bring with you are the clothes necessary for work.
If you are currently taking any prescription medications, a written order on prescription paper from your primary physician along with the medication is required at the time of booking. If you have more than one primary physician (i.e., family doctor, psychiatrist, specialist, etc.) each separate order must be supplied with a phone number and diagnosis for the accompanying medication. There are three medication passes per day.
You are further advised that if you fail to report to jail after (date) you may be charged with the crime of “Failure to Report to Jail” contrary to s.946.425 Wis. Stats. This is a misdemeanor if your sentence is less than 10 days; however, if your sentence is ten days or longer, it is a felony.

Professional visitation for legal counsel and related professionals, P& P agents, authorized religious leaders, educators, and any other persons approved by Jail Administration may be allowed daily from 7 am – 10 pm. Professionals who are a relative of the inmate may also require additional approval from Jail Administration to insure that visitation time is used for professional matters and not personal visit time.

All persons entering the professional visitation areas are subject to search of their person and/or property. Professional visitors are encouraged to leave any unnecessary items in their vehicles.
All regular family/friend visitation is done via video from terminals here in the Huber Lobby or offsite on an electronic device with a camera capable of internet access.
