I am new to this ... I am trying to set up a phone card so my kids father is able to call and talk to my children.. Would it be cheaper just to put the money on his books? Or do I have to set up an account for him? And does this system use infinity? Thanks

Putting money on their books allows them to buy phone cards which will by-pass any fees that Infinity charges to set up a pre-paid account. One downside, once the money is in the inmate's account, they can use it as they choose, so they can call other people or use the money for items sold at the commissary. Some people might care about that, others not so much but we want to give you both sides. You might consider what InmateAid offers to lower the price of the calls. If your inmate calls out of the jail - a long distance number - we can get you a local line to give your inmate. You will save between $5-13 per call with a local line. Let us know if you have further questions.
