Do you still need to use a calling card when using this service?

Yes. The phone service at EVERY prison or jail is controlled by one company (there are 25 competing for the contract). They set the rates and you HAVE to use them. What InmateAid does is get a different phone number that we know will reduce the price (using their pricing model as our guide). In some cases, the local call is the cheapest, in others an out of state call is less than any number inside the same state (it's really crazy but we know where we can help and where we cannot).

If you send us the name of the facility and your number, we will give you an honest estimate of the savings (if any) before you sign up. If you talk a lot and save a couple dollars per call, you'll have to decide if the $19.95 fee is paid for with the savings (i.e. with GTL-OffenderConnect, all local calls are $1.85, any long distance is $5.45 - you save $3.60 per call. Talk everyday, $3.60 x 31= $111.6 in savings - might be worth $20??).

Please let us know.
