How my son begins to look for employment as a felon?

Been asking a few questions over the past months. Never seem to see where the answers are posted (?). Wondering about how my son begins to look for employment as a felon. Thanks.

Finding a job with a felony is going to be difficult, so he's going to have to prepare himself for the struggle. The mindset he has is going to be the most important element to success. He must have the attitude that he WILL find a job no matter how long it takes. Most ex-offenders give up and that leads to a path back to criminal thinking, committing a crime and then going back (becoming a recidivism statistic). We recommend creating an aura where you "act like you've already been employed", meaning you wake up like you have to be there at 8:00am. Fresh haircut, nails trimed, shower, shave and dress for success. Prepare your mind for rejection, just like in sales and know that every "no" gets you closer to a "yes". Apply everywhere and anywhere, research on the Internet the companies in your area. Keep a notepad and pen with you to write down any business that was in your general area. Use any personal contacts you have, talk with them first to see if they have any work, if they have any leads, if they will be a reference for you. This author taught this very thing in federal prison. The one feature that worked well when perfected was to come out with a scripted, rehearsed response to the hiring question: "With all of the applications I've got in front of me, you are the only one with a felony, why would I hire you?" Even if they don't come right out and ask it, they are certainly thinking it. Instead of waiting for it, ATTACK it with a great reason... Here is what we recommend you learn to say, and say with confidence: "Yes I have a felony on my record and spent time in prison. I know that I will have to work twice has hard as anyone else in your company just to gain respect. I have been locked up, know the feeling and will NEVER commit another crime for fear of returning. I will start at the bottom, with the lowest pay and work long hours to earn yours and my co-worker's respect - because I will not go back. In fact, with my experience behind me, I will be the one employee that you will have the least to worry about. Your other employees might take risks, they might cut corners, but since I have lived with the consequences of my previous actions I'm not willing to take chances ever again. You will get more for your money with me than anyone in that stack of applications. Please give me serious consideration, hiring me will be the best choice you could make."
