The BCADF is a low/medium-security detention center located at 615 N Main St Belvidere, IL which is operated locally by the Boone County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Boone County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, Belvidere Police Department, and the US Marshal's Service.

New detainees arrive at the jail regularly, with some being released on bail, placed under pretrial services caseloads, supervised by probation agencies, or released on recognizance with a court appearance agreement. Those who are not released await their court appearances at the jail, receiving accommodations including bedding and meals. You can see all the arrest records for Illinois here.

The Boone County ADF upholds a steadfast mission focused on the secure custody and welfare of the individuals under its care. Our commitment is to maintain a safe, secure, and hygienic environment for both detainees and staff, prioritizing the highest standards of security to safeguard the citizens of Boone County. Operating by Illinois County Jail Standards, the United States Constitution, and relevant case laws, BCADF ensures compliance while striving for excellence in all aspects of its operation.

Furthermore, BCADF values the growth and development of its staff, fostering opportunities for advancement and professional enrichment through educational avenues. In line with our commitment to cost efficiency, we engage adult detainees in facility maintenance tasks, promoting their involvement in the upkeep of their environment.

Recognizing the significance of both physical and mental well-being, BCADF employs medical and mental health professionals to oversee the health needs of detainees, ensuring comprehensive care and support. Additionally, we prioritize facilitating positive connections between detainees and their families and friends during their time in our facility, understanding the importance of maintaining these bonds.

While BCADF operates as a detention rather than a correctional facility, we offer detainee programs aimed at self-improvement, contingent upon the detainee's willingness to participate and effect change. Our goal is for detainees to emerge from our custody in improved physical and emotional states, ideally better than upon their admission.

Embracing the Podular Direct Supervision philosophy, BCADF emphasizes a structured environment that addresses detainees' critical needs while upholding their human dignity. Through compassionate yet firm supervision, we strive to foster compliant behavior and support the well-being of all individuals within our care.
