The FCRP-Sante Fe Springs is overseen by the California Department of Corrections and consists of six community-based programs that supervise both pre-sentenced and sentenced offenders, prioritizing public safety and cost-effective alternatives to incarceration. Working in collaboration with the Department's Work Release Center, located at 11121 Bloomfield Ave Sante Fe Springs, CA, and other criminal justice agencies, the division oversees thousands of offenders in the community.

The Female Community Reentry Program (FCRP) provides eligible female individuals, including those convicted of serious and violent crimes, as well as non-serious offenses, with the opportunity to serve their sentence in the community instead of state prison. This alternative pathway, designated by the Department and at the discretion of the Secretary, offers a range of rehabilitative services aimed at aiding participants in alcohol and drug recovery, employment, education, housing, family reunification, and social support. Participants volunteer for FCRP and must commit to a minimum of 45 days and a maximum of 32 months in the program before their release date.

FCRP operates on the principle that each day of participation in the program counts as one day of incarceration in state prison. Moreover, participants are eligible to receive any sentence reductions they would have obtained had they served their term in state prison. While enrolled, participants may be returned to an institution to complete the remainder of their sentence at any time, with or without cause. However, to benefit from the program, all participants must reside at the FCRP facility.

Under the oversight of the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR), final decisions regarding program placements are made, and the CDCR retains the right to remove participants from the program as necessary. FCRP stands as a vital initiative, offering eligible female individuals a pathway to reintegrate into society while receiving essential rehabilitative services to support their successful transition.
