It accepts inmates from various jurisdictions, including surrounding towns, municipalities, the US Marshal's Service, and the Cumming Police Department.

Inmates serving as trustees within the jail undertake various tasks, including cooking, laundry, and commissary management, often receiving minimal compensation or sentence reduction for their services.

The jail offers a phone program for outbound calls only, with inmates unable to receive incoming calls. Accepting collect calls can be expensive, sometimes exceeding $10 per call. Alternatively, setting up an account through a third-party phone company may entail high fees per minute of usage. Visitation Information

Forsyth County Jail - Visitation

Visitation is conducted on Saturday and Sunday only, from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. It is the inmate's responsibility to sign up for visitation on Monday evening. They must inform the Deputy signing them up for visitation as to who will be visiting. Inmates are restricted to two adult visitors and one child (17 years and younger) at a time in the visitation room. It is also the inmate's responsibility to inform their visitors of their assigned date of visitation beforehand.

All visitation is conducted via video chat. Each visitation time is preprogrammed in the video visitation system. The visitation will start at the prescribed time and end automatically 30 minutes later. If visitors are late the session duration cannot be changed.

Purses, diaper bags, or car seats are not allowed in the video visitation room. Appropriate attire and conduct is required. It is at the screening Deputy's discretion to determine if the session will be allowed or ended early based on attire and/or behavior during visitation.
