Located at 140 Laying Farm Rd in Hardwick, GA, BSP carefully assigns inmates based on their custody level, considering factors like criminal history. BSP offers diverse educational and vocational programs aimed at equipping offenders for successful reintegration into society and reducing recidivism. Through these initiatives, inmates gain skills and confidence, fostering personal growth and resilience.
Ensuring public safety and effectively housing close security offenders are our top priorities at our facility. We maintain a safe and secure environment while offering Mental Health Level III services, including a Supportive Living Unit, nine acute care beds, and seven crisis stabilization beds. Additionally, we provide mental health evaluation and support services for six other facilities. Serving as a host facility, we operate a transportation hub, a 17-bed infirmary, and several on-site specialty clinics that offer care on an as-needed basis.
Our housing setup consists of seven units, totaling 754 beds, which include open dormitories, tiered living units, and two-man cells. We also provide specialized housing for acute care, crisis stabilization, hospital infirmary, and segregation. Moreover, our facility hosts a C.E.R.T. Team and a Tactical Squad to ensure the safety and security of all inmates.
In terms of work details, we offer various opportunities for inmates to contribute to the facility and its operations. These include roles in food distribution warehouse, outside grounds maintenance, support for Georgia Military College, care and custody tasks, maintenance of the Arnall Building, operation of the food distribution unit meat plant, vehicle maintenance, warehouse duties, and support for the Georgia State Patrol.
We provide a comprehensive range of programs to support rehabilitation and personal development. Academic programs cover GED, Adult Basic Education (ABE), literacy remedial education, and special education. Counseling services address various topics such as HIV awareness, maintaining a positive mental attitude, re-entry preparation, Thinking for a Change (T4C), Celebrate Recovery, family violence, integrity promotion, mental health groups, and Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) sessions. Recreation activities offer inmates opportunities for general leisure and physical activity. Religious activities include worship services, gospel music events, and pastoral counseling sessions. Vocational and on-the-job training opportunities encompass food preparation, horticulture, graphic arts, maintenance tasks, forklift operation, and barbering skills.
Overall, our facility is dedicated to fostering rehabilitation, personal growth, and skill development while prioritizing public safety and security. We strive to provide a supportive environment where offenders can work towards successful reintegration into society.
BSP maintains a database of current inmates and their locations within the system. To locate an inmate, begin by using the DOC locator tool, which requires entering the first three letters of the inmate's first and last name, allowing for variations in spelling.
If unable to locate the desired information through free resources, users may opt to use the Arrest Record Search, which requires payment. While this option incurs a small fee, it provides access to the most up-to-date data available.

The first step in the visitation process is to become an approved visitor. To do so, you must first fill out the Visitation Request Form and submit a completed form to the facility where your loved one is incarcerated. Please include a copy of supporting documentation (photo id, marriage license, and birth certificate) along with the application. Consent forms must be notarized before they can be processed. All visitors must apply regardless of age. They must also be mailed to the facility where the offender is currently housed (email forms will not be accepted).

Dress Code - For adults: No tank tops, no mesh or see-through clothing, t-shirts cannot be sleeveless. No chest, shoulders, or stomach exposed. A skirt may not be more than 2 inches above the knee. No stretch pants or shorts may be worn. Only children are permitted to wear shorts. No Contraband is Permitted
