All prisons and jails have Security or Custody levels depending on the inmate’s classification, sentence, and criminal history. Please review the rules and regulations for State - medium facility.

Aligned with the reentry initiatives of the Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections, Allen Correctional Center is dedicated to providing essential resources and support to individuals transitioning back into society after their release. Through the Reentry Program, the Department endeavors to equip former inmates with vital tools in areas such as employment, life skills, and job placement, thereby enhancing their chances of successful reintegration into society and reducing recidivism rates.
At the core of Allen Correctional Center's operational framework is an aggressive classification procedure designed to address and correct inmate behavior. This multifaceted process encompasses various stages, including reception, orientation, treatment planning, programming, progress assessment, reclassification, and preparation for release and community reintegration. Program staff offer a comprehensive range of interdisciplinary services, encompassing medical, psychiatric, psychological, social, religious, vocational, educational, and recreational programs, tailored to meet the diverse needs of the incarcerated population.
Recognizing the critical role of administrative and management decisions in shaping the security and treatment objectives of the facility, the Department operates under the principle that all such decisions have a direct or indirect impact on these goals. As such, facility staff serve as influential role models, imparting mainstream societal values to incarcerated individuals and facilitating positive behavioral reinforcement through daily interactions. Employees are expected to engage with inmates in a manner consistent with the facility's objectives, utilizing these interactions as opportunities to teach, guide, and promote appropriate conduct among the incarcerated population. Through these concerted efforts, Allen Correctional Center remains steadfast in its commitment to fostering a rehabilitative environment conducive to offender reintegration and community safety.
ACC maintains a database of current inmates and their locations within the system. To locate an inmate, begin by using the DOC locator tool, which requires entering the first three letters of the inmate's first and last name, allowing for variations in spelling.
If unable to locate the desired information through free resources, users may opt to use the Arrest Record Search, which requires payment. While this option incurs a small fee, it provides access to the most up-to-date data available.
Visiting hours are from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday of each week. In months where a fifth Saturday and/or Sunday occur, visitation will be allowed for minimum trustee and medium honor imprisoned individuals only. Medium and maximum custody individuals will not be allowed visitors on these days. No visitor will be allowed to enter after 2:00 p.m.
