The Mesa Verde ICE Processing Center - GEO is a US Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility located at 425 Golden State Ave in Bakersfield, CA in Kern County. This Low security prison is operated by Homeland Security to hold immigration detainees who are awaiting trial or have already been convicted and sentenced for a crime.

In 2015, GEO announced the activation of the company-owned and renovated Mesa Verde ICE Processing Center, providing detention services for the City of McFarland and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The facility operates by Performance Based National Detention Standards, offering medical services, transportation, food service, laundry, library access, and religious services. It features separate indoor and outdoor recreation areas, including aerobic and strength conditioning equipment and modern artificial turf yards.

GEO believes in providing inmates and detainees with opportunities for rehabilitation and education. The facility offers nationally recognized cognitive behavior programs and evidence-based programs aimed at improving health and welfare. Educational programs include GED, Pre-GED, Adult Basic Education, English as a Second Language courses, Post-Secondary Programs, and Library Services. The facility also offers vocational training, substance abuse treatment, recreational activities, and religious and faith-based programs.

Academic programming features Smart Board Technology, customized learning, technology-based learning labs, small class sizes, and differentiated learning groups. Vocational programs include Career and Technical Education, NCCER Certification, vocational licensing, job training opportunities, and partnerships with community employers.

Cognitive Behavioral Treatment Programs focus on motivation, cognitive restructuring, problem-solving, and emotional regulation. Faith-based services, substance abuse education and treatment, and reentry services are also provided to facilitate successful transitions back into society.

Through residential reentry centers and non-residential day reporting centers, GEO Care's Reentry Services division offers federal and state parolees and probationers temporary housing, employment assistance, rehabilitation, substance abuse counseling, and vocational and education programs, ensuring comprehensive support for successful reintegration.

Adult visitors must present a valid, verifiable government-issued identification card to enter the facility. Visits shall not exceed 60 minutes. No more than three (3) visitors per visit.
