Located at 255 MO-32 in Licking, MO, SCCC carefully assigns inmates based on their custody level, considering factors like criminal history. SCCC offers diverse educational and vocational programs aimed at equipping offenders for successful reintegration into society and reducing recidivism. Through these initiatives, inmates gain skills and confidence, fostering personal growth and resilience.

The SCCC functions as a comprehensive state prison, accommodating approximately 1,660 adult male inmates across a spectrum of custody levels, including minimum, medium, and maximum security. The facility offers various rehabilitative programs and services aimed at addressing the diverse needs of its inmate population. Among these programs are the Alcoholics Victorious program, Restorative Justice program, and a range of biblical studies and religious worship services, providing inmates with opportunities for personal growth, reflection, and spiritual development during their incarceration.

As part of the Missouri Vocational Enterprise program, South Central CC enables inmates to participate in productive employment within a furniture factory, allowing them to earn a small wage while gaining valuable skills and work experience. This vocational program not only provides inmates with meaningful employment but also instills a sense of responsibility, discipline, and self-worth, contributing to their rehabilitation and successful reintegration into society upon release.

In addition to vocational opportunities, SCCC offers educational programs such as GED (General Educational Development) and Adult Basic Education, ensuring that inmates who do not possess a high school diploma have the chance to acquire essential literacy and numeracy skills. These educational initiatives play a crucial role in empowering inmates to improve their academic proficiency, broaden their horizons, and prepare for future educational and employment opportunities beyond their incarceration.

Furthermore, offenders at SCCC are encouraged to enroll in vocational classes aimed at equipping them with new employment trades and skills, enhancing their prospects for meaningful employment and economic stability upon reentry into society. By providing access to vocational training and educational programs, the facility seeks to equip inmates with the tools and resources necessary for successful rehabilitation and reintegration, ultimately reducing recidivism rates and promoting safer communities.

SCCC's commitment to rehabilitation extends beyond vocational and educational opportunities to include a focus on restorative justice principles and spiritual development. Through programs like Restorative Justice and religious studies, inmates are encouraged to reflect on their actions, take accountability for their behavior, and work toward positive change and reconciliation. These programs foster a sense of responsibility, empathy, and moral growth among inmates, promoting personal transformation and contributing to their successful rehabilitation.

Overall, the South Central Correctional Center serves as a vital institution within the Missouri Department of Corrections, offering a range of programs and services designed to support the rehabilitation and reintegration of its inmate population. Through its emphasis on vocational training, education, restorative justice, and spiritual development, SCCC strives to empower inmates to lead productive, law-abiding lives upon their release, thereby promoting public safety and contributing to the overall well-being of communities.
