Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) addresses emotional, psychological, and cognitive disorders through behavior modification. It helps offenders recognize responses to different environments and situations, impacting decision-making and addressing detrimental patterns of thought. The Family Reunification program focuses on strengthening family support networks, as children with offender parents are more likely to be incarcerated. It includes regular visitation, family counseling, parenting skills, and services for the well-being of children. Victim Awareness programs enhance offenders' understanding of the impact of crime on the community, particularly on victims. This may involve panels, group discussions, statistics, and audiovisual materials.

The Workforce Development Program coordinates work release activities with educational and vocational training to provide offenders with marketable skills. Work release programs provide community-based experience before release. Specific programs offered at Richwood Correctional Center include GED, literacy training, CDL computer-based training, and vocational training in carpentry, plumbing, welding, mechanical, electrical, heavy equipment, and computer skills.

Visitation Information

Family Visits

Visitation is allowed seven days a week during the following hours:

Monday – Friday: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Saturday & Sunday: 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Visitors must present a valid verifiable government-issued identification card to enter the facility.

Visits shall not exceed one hour. Extended visits must be pre-approved by the Facility Administrator or his designee.

Minors who are visiting the facility must be accompanied by an adult guardian (18 years or older). Minors must not be left unaccompanied in the waiting room, visiting room or any other area.
