The facility, established in 2011 with a capacity of 1588 inmates, operates as a medium-security private prison owned by the GEO Group. It is strategically located next to the GDC-Baldwin State Prison. Its core mission is to ensure public safety while effectively housing medium or lower-security-level offenders as contracted by the State of Georgia.

In terms of housing, the facility consists of six units. Four of these units are dormitory-style, each with four pods accommodating up to 250 offenders. Additionally, there is one unit featuring two dormitory-style pods and two-man cell housing pods, also housing 250 offenders. Another unit comprises four two-man cell housing pods, accommodating a total of 250 offenders. Finally, there is a lockdown unit with 50 segregation beds and 25 isolation beds.

Work details primarily involve outside grounds maintenance, contributing to the upkeep and functionality of the facility's surroundings.

Program offerings encompass a range of areas aimed at inmate rehabilitation and preparation for successful reintegration into society. These include academic programs such as the General Education Diploma (GED), Adult Basic Education (ABE), Literacy Remedial Education, and Special Education. Counseling services cover pre-release preparation, Thinking for a Change (T4C), addressing family violence, and Moral Reconation Therapy (M4C). The facility also provides opportunities for general recreation activities and various worship services to cater to inmates' religious needs. Additionally, vocational and on-the-job training programs, including computer training, building trades, and custodial maintenance, aim to equip inmates with valuable skills for their future endeavors beyond incarceration.

Visitation Information

The first step in the visitation process is to become an approved visitor. To do so, you must first fill out the Visitation Request Form and submit a completed form to the facility where your loved one is incarcerated. Please include a copy of supporting documentation (photo id, marriage license, and birth certificate) along with the application. Consent forms must be notarized before they can be processed. All visitors must apply regardless of age. They must also be mailed to the facility where the offender is currently housed (email forms will not be accepted).

Dress Code - For adults: No tank tops, no mesh or see-through clothing, t-shirts cannot be sleeveless. No chest, shoulders, or stomach exposed. A skirt may not be more than 2 inches above the knee. No stretch pants or shorts may be worn. Only children are permitted to wear shorts. No Contraband is Permitted
