Walter J. Leinberger Detention Center is for County Jail offenders sentenced up to twenty four months.

The Walter J. Leinberger Detention Center is a detention center located at 2420 East Gibson Road Woodland, CA which is operated locally by the Yolo County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Yolo County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, Woodland Police Department, and the US Marshal's Service.

New detainees arrive at the jail regularly, with some being released on bail, placed under pretrial services caseloads, supervised by probation agencies, or released on recognizance with a court appearance agreement. Leinberger Center is primarily a working facility designed to house sentenced inmates who work at various city, county, and state agencies to reduce their jail time.

Leinberger Center has the resources and can house overflow inmates from the Monroe Detention Center. These potential inmates are carefully screened and must meet strict policy and procedure criteria when transferred to the Leinberger Detention Center. The safety of the public is paramount when considering inmates for such transfer.

Wednesday Night: 7:00pm to 8:30pm Saturday and Sunday: 9:00am to 10:30am 2:00pm to 3:30pm 7:00pm to 8:00pm Visiting at Leinberger Center is by pre-scheduled appointment only. Visitors will need to call (530) 668-5245 to schedule a visit. *NOTE* Once a visiting appointment is scheduled, there will be NO changes, re-scheduling, or modifications permitted.
