The Lewis Co Jail is a detention center located at 28 SW Chehalis Ave Chehalis, WA which is operated locally by the Lewis County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Lewis County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, Chehalis Police Department, and the US Marshal's Service.
New detainees arrive at the jail regularly, with some being released on bail, placed under pretrial services caseloads, supervised by probation agencies, or released on recognizance with a court appearance agreement. Those who are not released await their court appearances at the jail, receiving accommodations including bedding and meals. You can see all the arrest records for Washington here.
The Lewis County Jail lobby is open from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday - Friday.

Inmate Postal Mail - To maintain the security and safety of the inmates and staff, effective April 2nd, 2018 all inmate postal mail (with the exception of Legal Mail, money orders, books, Court Documents, Bank Statements, & Publications) must be sent to the following address:

The Inmates Name and ID number must be clearly Printed on the outside of the envelope or postcard to ensure the mail is posted to the correct account. Mail not containing the inmate ID Number and Name will be “Returned to Sender”. The inmate ID number may be found online at http://jail.lewiscountywa.gov/
All regular inmate postal mail (Postcards, Letters, Greeting Cards, etc.) will be scanned into the system and available to the inmates to view their postal mail via the inmate kiosks. After electronic processing all inmate postal mail will be destroyed and will not be available.
Legal Mail, Court Documents, Books, Bank Statements, & Publications will continue to be sent to the facility directly at 28 SW Chehalis Ave., Chehalis WA 98532
Money Orders may also be sent in to the facility however, please only include the money order. If sent with a letter the entire envelope will be returned.
An inmate simply dials your phone number. When receiving a call, you should first hear an announcement from an automated operating system, such as, "You are receiving a call from [inmate name], an inmate at The Lewis County Jail. Press (1) to accept." If the inmate has no calling funds, and is calling you for the first time, the call will be free for a brief period of time (often less than a minute). This allows the inmate to inform you of where he or she is, and to explain how calls work from the facility. Visiting Rules & Times
WEB VIDEO VISITATION will be conducted everyday 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM. The last visitation will begin at 9:40 PM.
If a video visitor, whether at home or in the jail lobby is disruptive, acting in an inappropriate manner or not properly dressed the visit will be stopped by staff and future visitation privileges may be revoked.
All video visits will be recorded.
