The Campbell Co Jail is a detention center located at 601 Central Ave Newport, KY which is operated locally by the Campbell County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Campbell County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, Newport Police Department, and the US Marshal's Service.

New detainees arrive at the jail regularly, with some being released on bail, placed under pretrial services caseloads, supervised by probation agencies, or released on recognizance with a court appearance agreement. Those who are not released await their court appearances at the jail, receiving accommodations including bedding and meals. You can see all the arrest records for Kentucky here.

The Detention Center and Restricted Custody Center house county misdemeanor inmates, and county and state felons. Use the links above to find more specific information.

Phone cards purchased by inmates must be purchased in ten dollar increments. Inmates will be provided access to telephones for collect calls. A machine has been placed in the main lobby of the jail to add money to inmates phone accounts. This account works like the commissary account does, the inmate can check the remaining balance and use the funds as they wish. Money deposited on the phone account does not go toward any debt that is owed by the inmate, it will only be used for making phone calls.

Pre-paid accounts may also be set up via the Detention Center's phone service provider. Contact Combined Public Communications at 1-877-998-5678 for further information regarding an account. Check to see if you qualify for better rates. Savings as much as 50%

Commissary orders will still be pulled on Monday and Thursday and delivered on Tuesday and Fridays (excluding Holidays). Money can be placed on inmate accounts by using the cashier located in the visitation lobby, mailing in a money order made payable to the Campbell County Detention Center (with inmates name in the memo line) or online.
