Located at 62 Bare Hill Rd in Malone, NY, Franklin CF carefully assigns inmates based on their custody level, considering factors like criminal history. Franklin CF offers diverse educational and vocational programs aimed at equipping offenders for successful reintegration into society and reducing recidivism. Through these initiatives, inmates gain skills and confidence, fostering personal growth and resilience.
Franklin Correctional Facility, located near Bare Hill Correctional Facility and Upstate Correctional Facility, is a medium-security state prison with a capacity of 1,730 inmates. The facility offers vocational training programs covering various fields such as masonry, welding, horticulture, business, and more. Additionally, inmates can receive training in areas like building and custodial maintenance, computers, and electrical work.
Franklin CF operates a waste management program aimed at processing and recycling facility waste, saving thousands of dollars annually in waste costs. Through recycling and composting initiatives, the facility minimizes its environmental footprint while reducing operational expenses.
Participating in the Correctional Industries program, Franklin Correctional provides opportunities for inmates to work in a garment shop. This program allows inmates to gain valuable skills and work experience, contributing to their rehabilitation and potential reintegration into society upon release.

Franklin CF maintains a database of current inmates and their locations within the system. To locate an inmate, begin by using the DOC locator tool, which requires entering the first three letters of the inmate's first and last name, allowing for variations in spelling.
If unable to locate the desired information through free resources, users may opt to use the Arrest Record Search, which requires payment. While this option incurs a small fee, it provides access to the most up-to-date data available.

Visiting Days: Weekends and Holidays
Visiting Hours: 7:30AM to 3:00PM (Latest arrival time 2:00PM)
Special Housing Unit Visiting Days & Hours: Incarcerated individuals in SHU custody are allowed one non-legal visit within a seven (7) day period during regular visitation hours and days. Each week begins on a Sunday and ends on a Saturday
Visitation Schedule: Weekend visits are divided into specific segments of the population by the last digit of the DIN. Holiday visitation is open to all incarcerated individuals, regardless of DIN. See attached schedule.
Maximum Number of Visits per Day: Unlimited
Maximum Number of Visits per Month: Two (2) per month
Maximum Number of Visitors per Visit: Three (3) visitors
Visiting Room Overcrowding Policy: If space considerations require termination of visits, the following procedure will be followed:
1) Request voluntary termination from any visitor first.
2) If no volunteers, those visitors who arrived first will be asked to leave.
