Sending money into a prison is not always easy. Many times it requires a trip to the grocery store, a check-cashing store or some physical location where these transactions can take place. InmateAid makes this service available to you on the web.

Click on the Western Union link below or anywhere on the site and follow these easy instructions for your first transaction. The first time requires you to register your information, after that, it gets really easy. For inmates in the Federal system, please read article below for more detailed instruction.

Below is a step-by-step guide to make sure it is a smooth transition to access Western Union and send an inmate money with your smartphone or computer.

1. Click on the icon that takes you to the Western Union page

2. Click the “Register” button on the top right corner

3. First-time users will need to create a USER ID by providing the information requested, as well as answers to the security questions

4. Now your profile is set up. You can either proceed to send money via credit/debit card, OR register your payment information so that you do not have to keep entering your payment information every time you want to send an inmate money

5. As you continue, you will be taken to the next page where you will select the yellow button that states: “Send to Inmate Account”

6. Now select “Correctional Facility” on the Payment Services Page

7. You will now be given a drop down menu to select the specific correctional facility where you would like to send money. Select the facility, enter the amount you want to send and you are done!
