The mission of the York County Reentry Coalition (YCRC) is to establish partnerships with governmental agencies, the business community, faith-based entities, and service providers. This collaborative effort aims to support reentrants and their families by identifying risks and needs, providing education, treatment, and facilitating ongoing skill development.
The YCRC advocates for the use of evidence- and trauma-based assessments, practices, and interventions to assist reentrants in adopting prosocial, law-abiding behaviors. This approach is intended to enhance their quality of life, reduce recidivism, and restore their dignity.

The vision of the York County Reentry Coalition (YCRC) is to empower reentrants to enhance their quality of life through personal development, thereby contributing to the improvement of the York community. This includes reducing recidivism, enhancing public safety, and fostering economic growth.
Guiding Principles:
In establishing the YCRC, the following guiding principles were identified:
- Improvement of reentry resources and processes for the benefit of the entire community.
- Recognition that every individual matters; there are no "second-class citizens."
- Emphasis on collaboration as an essential component of successful reentry efforts.
- Expansion of advocacy for reentry within the community.
- Acknowledgment of the importance of realistic expectations, understanding that change may not occur on a predetermined timeline.
- Commitment to continued support from the criminal justice system, be it local, state, or federal.
About YCRC:
The York County Reentry Coalition (YCRC) was established in September 2016 to connect individuals transitioning from prison back into society in York County with available resources. Its primary objective is to support these individuals during the transitional phase of their lives by providing education, access to resources such as housing, and guidance on post-prison life.
Comprised of over 100 individuals, agencies, and organizations, the YCRC is dedicated to offering reentry programs and support services to those reintegrating into society. Members of these agencies are driven by a shared desire to assist individuals transitioning from prison to society. This collaborative network includes government agencies, local businesses, faith-based entities, and service providers. By pooling their resources, the YCRC offers comprehensive reentry assistance services, including interviews, education, various treatment options, and ongoing skills development. Additionally, support and guidance are extended to family members navigating the challenges of their loved ones' reentry process.
