VISITORS
Corrections staff will check visitors in on a first come first served basis.
Staff will verify the identity of visitors with picture ID; Driver Licenses, ID’s from any state, Passports from any country, and U.S. Military ID Cards will be accepted.
Juveniles must have special permission to visit. Such permission must be in writing from the Jail Commander or the Sheriff at least a week in advance of the visit.
Visitors will use the designated visiting room.
A visitor may not possess or use a camera, tape recorder, or other visual or sound recording device without first getting approval from the Jail Commander or Sheriff.
Corrections Staff will not make a sound recording of an Attorney or approved “private” Clergy visit. A Corrections Deputy may direct the sound recording of other visits for safety and security reasons.
No visitor may take a cellular telephone or other two-way electronic communications device on a visit. Corrections Staff will control what visitors take into a visiting area.
VISITATION REGULATIONS
1. No person under the age of 12 years will be permitted to visit.
2. No person under the age of 18 years will be permitted to visit without a parent or guardian.
3. Visitation for friends and family is limited to 15 minutes per visitor up to three visitors, or as time permits.
4. No person who has been incarcerated in the Curry County Jail within the past 180 days will be permitted to visit.
5. No CELL PHONES or electronic equipment in visitation.
6. All visitors must be pre-approved 24 hours prior to the visit.
7. No person who is on probation or parole will be permitted to visit.
8. No food or drink allowed in visiting areas.
RULES FOR VISITORS
A visitor violates a Jail Rule if a visitor:
1. Looks or acts as if he/she is under any influence of drugs or alcohol. Staff will assume “influence” if they smell alcohol on a person.
2. Transmits or attempts to bring contraband into the jail.
3. Was lodged in the Curry County Jail within the last 180 days.
4. Is on probation or parole.
5. Behaves in a way that threatens the safety, security, and good order of the Jail.
6. Fails to abide by dress standard requirements.
7. Refuses to secure personal belongings.
8. Fails to present proper identification.
9. Enters an unauthorized visiting area.
10. Does not end the visit within the set time.
11. Fails to supervise a minor on a visit properly.
12. Damages, marks, tampers with, or soils visiting area.
UNACCEPTABLE CLOTHING FOR VISITORS
Visitors must wear conventional clothing in a manner that is not sexually suggestive.
Dresses, skirts and dresses or skirts with slits that expose an undue amount of flesh on the chest, back, thigh, or midsection.
Wrap around skirts and dresses or skirts with slits that expose an undue amount of flesh on the chest, back, thigh, or midsection.
Tank tops, halter dresses, or tops, tube tops, or other clothing with plunging or low-cut necklines.
Tight-fitting clothing.
Visitors must wear under garments.
Visitors must wear footwear.
Visitors may wear hats or head covering only if they do not interfere with staff’s ability to readily identify them.
All Visitors are subject to search once inside the facility.
The public may visit no more than one time per week, Monday through Saturday at this Gold Beach OR location. Visitors must sign inat least 15 minutes before their scheduled visits. If you schedule a visit and don't show up or show up late, you will not be allowed to visit the rest of that week, including Saturday. If a visit on Saturday is scheduled, and the visitor does not show up or shows up late, they will not be allowed to visit until the following Saturday. Repeated late arrival or no-show violations may result in longer suspension of visiting privileges. Inmates are allowed no more than one (1) visit per day. Visitors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian, unless they are visiting a parent. Unaccompanied minors (under age 18) visiting a parent must present a copy of their birth certificate. Children must remain with the parent at all times during the visit. All visitors must have acceptable identification. This includes a drivers license with picture identification, military ID, or other verifiable picture ID. Three (3) pieces of non-picture ID may substitute for picture ID.
No mail or messages for inmates will be accepted. Mail must go through the U.S. Mail. Visitors may only visit the inmate they have signed up to visit. Any visitor who appears to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be permitted to visit. Inappropriate behavior, including the use of profanity, will not be permitted. No weapons will be permitted. All other items listed in the jail lobby are prohibited. There is a maximum of four (4) visitors per booth, including children, and the door must remain closed.
All visitors must wear appropriate clothing, including shoes and shirts. Restrictions on attire or appearance include: No miniskirts or similar attire; no low-cut or revealing necklines; no attire with obscene or offensive language; and no persons with a bare midriff will be permitted to visit. Visitors cannot bring items into the visiting area including weapons of any kind, purses, handbags, backpacks, diaper bags, food, drink, gum, baby bottles, pictures, books, toys, writing utensils, strollers or carriers, cell phones, cameras, or any other electronic devices.
Violation of the above restrictions may cause the visit to be cancelled or terminated, and visiting privileges may be suspended by the Curry Sheriffs Department. The on-duty supervisor may cancel visits without notice due to circumstances within the jail.
