General Visitation Information

The Holmes County Jail facilities prioritize inmate visitation to foster family connections and promote beneficial associations for inmates' overall adjustment. However, strict guidelines are in place to maintain safety and security within the facility.

According to Florida State Statute 951.22, no person is permitted to introduce contraband or unauthorized items to inmates, and the introduction of contraband is considered a felony offense. Visitors are subject to search procedures in accordance with this statute.

Inmate visitation is considered a privilege, and it may be denied, revoked, or limited if it poses a threat to the safety, security, or order of the facility, or if visitation rules are violated.

Currently, in-person visitation is only allowed upon request and is approved after the inmate has spent 30 days in jail. There must be a 30-day interval between visits unless special approval is granted by the jail Administrator.

Visitors must bring a valid driver's license or picture ID for visitation purposes, ensuring compliance with facility regulations.
