The CACF is a medium-custody private prison situated in Florence, Arizona, operating under contract with the Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry. It serves as a residential facility for 1,280 adult male inmates, specifically those who require sex offender treatment. Managed by The GEO Group, the facility commenced operations in December 2006, focusing on providing both custody and treatment services. CACF should not be confused with the nearby Central Arizona Detention Center, which houses prisoners for the United States Marshals Service, TransCor America LLC, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Pascua Yaqui Tribe government, and the United States Air Force, but does not house Arizona DOC state prisoners.

A wide array of programs are available at the Central Arizona Correctional Facility to address the various needs of the inmates. These programs include employability skills, parenting classes, substance abuse education and counseling, nutrition/diet education, educational opportunities such as GED and ABE classes, case management, individual and group counseling, stress management, facility work programs, and job placement initiatives. Additionally, specialized programs such as Functional Literacy (TABE), Business Technology (WBE), and Domestic Violence intervention are offered to cater to specific needs.

These include programs targeting behavior modification, anger management, conflict resolution, preparing for release, substance abuse education, money management, life skills development, and peer education. Moreover, specialized treatment programs focused on sex offender rehabilitation are available, encompassing orientation, pre-treatment foundation, primary treatment, and advanced treatment phases.

Furthermore, the Central Arizona Correctional & Rehabilitation Facility facilitates various cultural and educational initiatives such as music programs, diversity awareness, and distance learning opportunities, including college-level courses.
