The Bronx Community Reentry Center has been providing services since October 1996. The center staff works closely with the community to provide comprehensive programs and available resources while the residents give back to the community. The Bronx Community Reentry Center houses pre-release and community reentry residents. The pre-release component provides residents with the skills and resources necessary to make the transition from an institutional setting to independent and responsible living in the community. The community reentry component provides the same skill and resource training, although residents are confined to the facility when they are not engaged in employment and community service projects or activities directed by the court. A primary responsibility of facility staff is helping residents obtain employment. The staff meets this obligation through employment counseling, job training, a resource directory, business contact network, and a comprehensive system of monitoring resident job search activity. The facility maintains cooperative agreements with local Bronx agencies to ensure residents are provided with every opportunity to obtain employment.

Programs currently offered at the facility include: Life Skills, Transitional Housing Placement, Acute Medical Assistance Provision, Employment Readiness, Resume Workshops, 16 Hour Substance Abuse Class, Medical Insurance Provision, and Job Placement.
