The FCRP-San Diego is overseen by the California Department of Corrections and consists of six community-based programs that supervise both pre-sentenced and sentenced offenders, prioritizing public safety and cost-effective alternatives to incarceration. Working in collaboration with the Department's Work Release Center, located at 3050 Armstrong St San Diego, CA, and other criminal justice agencies, the division oversees thousands of offenders in the community.

The Female Community Reentry Program (FCRP) - San Diego is an 82-bed facility offering eligible female individuals convicted of serious and violent crimes, as well as non-serious offenses, the opportunity to serve their sentence in the community instead of in state prison. Participation in FCRP is designated by the Department and is at the discretion of the Secretary.

Key features of FCRP - San Diego include:

Rehabilitative Services: FCRP provides a range of rehabilitative services aimed at assisting participants with alcohol and drug recovery, employment, education, housing, family reunification, and social support.

Credit for Participation: Each day of participation in FCRP counts as one day of incarceration in state prison. Participants are also eligible to receive any sentence reductions they would have received had they served their sentence in state prison.

Discretionary Return: Participants may be returned to an institution to serve the remainder of their term at any time, with or without cause.

Voluntary Participation: Female participants volunteer for FCRP and must commit to a minimum of 45 days and a maximum of 32 months in the program before their release date. Residential Requirement: All participants receiving services through FCRP are required to reside at the FCRP program.

CDCR Oversight: The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) makes final decisions regarding program placements and retains the right to remove participants from the program at any time.

FCRP-San Diego offers eligible female individuals an alternative pathway to serve their sentence in the community while receiving essential rehabilitative services to support their successful reintegration into society.
