The Cheyenne Mountain Re-Entry Center is a medium-security state reentry treatment facility designed to reduce recidivism for CO DOC housing about 750 adult male inmates.


  • CMRC's goal is to address criminogenic behaviors and social influences that allow for recidivism and to reinforce pro-social and positive lifestyle habits that will assist residents in successfully transitioning upon their reentry into the community.
  • The program is structured around the Positive Peer Community model which is designed to address issues unique to pre-release offenders with an emphasis on community stabilization, employment, relapse prevention, and preparation for supervised community living.
  • Various strategic therapeutic interventions and behavior modification techniques are used to promote and reinforce positive change.
  • CMRC provides a comprehensive array of assessments to determine an individualized course of treatment for each resident. Areas assessed include risk, academic, vocational, mental health, substance abuse and employability factors.
  • At CMRC cognitive, behavioral, and psycho-educational programs are utilized. Depending on a resident's treatment needs, rehabilitation programs include drug and alcohol, psychiatric, personal development, and mental health categories.
  • CMRC is accredited by the American Correctional Association (ACA) and scored a perfect 100% on all mandatory and non-mandatory standards during its last accreditation.

Visitation Information

CO DOC - Cheyenne Mountain Re-Entry Center (CMRC) - Visitation

Visiting Hours:

  • Fri 3:30 - 8:30 pm,
  • Sat & Sun 8:30 am-5:30 pm

Visitors must arrive before 3:20 pm on Saturday and Sunday, and 6:20 pm on Friday. Residents may have up to 2 visits per week with no more than 3 total visitors at a time. Larger parties must request a special visit to be approved prior to the weekend they plan to visit. Visitors may come on Friday and Saturday, or Friday and Sunday, but Saturday and Sunday visits will not be allowed. Visitors are processed as they arrive on a first-come, first-serve basis. If overcrowding exists the First in First out process is followed which states once the time of visit has reached a period of 2 hours, if there are additional visitors waiting, they will be asked to leave on a first-in, first-out basis. Exceptions to this rule are if visitor travels greater than 200 miles one way, a special visit request has been approved in advance, or out of state visitor.
