At Iowa Work Release Center's state corrections facility, well-behaved inmates can join a work release program, getting regular jobs in the public sector during the day. Depending on the rules, they might work weekdays and go home at night, serving their sentences only on weekends. Some stay in halfway houses or at home when they're not working. As they get closer to getting out, they might switch to reintegration programs and could even get full-time jobs when they are released.

This program has perks like better chances of finding a job after getting out, finding work faster, making more money afterward, and being less likely to go back to jail. Iowa WRC wants to help inmates succeed in getting back into society.

Residential services offer a structured environment for offenders who struggle to adhere to less restrictive supervision programs. Within the Seventh Judicial District, two residential correctional facilities cater to individuals deemed high risk, high needs, or otherwise problematic. These offenders are typically referred by the court, Iowa Board of Parole, or Federal Bureau of Prisons.

The Residential Corrections Facility (RCF) and the Work Release Center-605 Center (WRC) serve as vital components of the correctional system in Davenport, Iowa. The RCF, situated at 1330 W 3rd Street, houses up to sixty-four male offenders, while the WRC, located at 605 Main Street, accommodates both male and female offenders, totaling one hundred and twenty. Residents typically stay at these facilities for a duration of three to six months.

During their stay, residents are expected to secure employment and address any treatment needs as mandated by the court or identified through assessments. Additionally, they must fulfill financial obligations such as child support, victim restitution, and court costs. This structured approach aims to foster accountability and responsibility while facilitating the successful reintegration of offenders into the community upon completion of their program.
