The Emanuel Co Jail is a detention center located at 769 Kite Rd Swainsboro, GA which is operated locally by the Emanuel County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Emanuel County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, Swainsboro Police Department, and the US Marshal's Service.

New detainees arrive at the jail regularly, with some being released on bail, placed under pretrial services caseloads, supervised by probation agencies, or released on recognizance with a court appearance agreement. Those who are not released await their court appearances at the jail, receiving accommodations including bedding and meals. You can see all the arrest records for Georgia here.

The Emanuel County Sheriff’s Detention Center houses inmates for the county, GDC state and federal government. Most of these inmates are awaiting trial or sentencing; although some have been sentenced to serve a short period of incarceration at the jail.

The Emanuel County Sheriff’s Detention Center is a state-of-the-art facility, capable of holding a maximum of 120 inmates. The detention center is supervised by Jail Administrator Lt. Matt Lamb Inmates of the detention center are served meals through a contracted vendor and have access to medical, dental and mental health care.
Inmates of the jail are provided visitation with family members on Sundays. Money is accepted for inmates during normal business hours during the week (8am-5pm).
