The Walton Academy for Growth and Change (WAGC) is a State-owned secure residential treatment program catering to male youths aged 13 to 18. It offers Substance Abuse Overlay Services (SAOS) and Mental Health Overlay Services (MHOS), integrating innovative delinquency programming to address various treatment needs.

Treatment encompasses academic, vocational, clinical anger management, substance abuse, and mental health services tailored to each resident's requirements. The duration of stay hinges on the individual's risk assessment for reoffending and their progress within the personalized treatment plan.

Academic and career education are central to the program's approach, aiming to optimize achievement toward high school diploma completion and post-secondary education, training, and employment. The Walton Learning Center, in partnership with the Walton County School District and the Rader Group, delivers educational services. It offers a comprehensive curriculum meeting middle school progression requirements and facilitating standard high school diploma attainment. Furthermore, the program collaborates with the Rader Group and Home Builders Institute to provide career education opportunities, including the Home Builders Institute Pre-Apprenticeship Certificate Training (PACT) certification. The Walton Learning Center serves as an approved GED® test site and Post-secondary Education Readiness Test (PERT) site.

For youths necessitating extended care under the Department of Juvenile Justice's supervision, residential facilities statewide offer essential support. Placement decisions are guided by the commitment plan, with assistance from the child's Juvenile Probation Officer (JPO) in identifying the most suitable facility.
