The Reality House - ACT Corp located at 1341 Indian Lake Rd Daytona Beach, FL, focuses on successful offender reintegration into society, crucial for effective crime control. With high recidivism rates, evidence-based practices tailor programs for medium to high-risk individuals, reducing repeat offenses. Reentry and Treatment Centers offer structured environments and various programs aiding rehabilitation and community reconnection efforts. Collaborating with the Volusia Sheriff's Department, the Florida Department of Corrections, and sometimes the US Marshal Service/Federal Bureau of Prisons, comprehensive reentry services prioritize education, substance abuse treatment, and workforce development. Facilities assist officers in monitoring compliance and serve as alternatives to pretrial detention, considering cost-effectiveness and reducing overcrowding. Emphasizing individual needs, family support, and community integration, the center aims for holistic support, empowering successful reintegration.
Reality House, situated within the Residential Services Division of Stewart-Marchman-Act Behavioral Healthcare, operates as an 85-bed correctional residential substance abuse treatment facility. Licensed as a Level II Residential Facility by the Department of Children and Families and accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitative Facilities (CARF) as a Therapeutic Community (TC) for Criminal Justice, Reality House offers a unique approach to addiction treatment.
Unlike traditional programs, Reality House provides inmates with a freestanding environment for rehabilitation, distinct from the confines of a prison. Here, milieu therapy and social learning theory serve as the clinical foundations for the clients' recovery process, fostering a supportive and conducive atmosphere for healing.
The residential phase of the program typically spans nine to twelve months, tailored to the individual's clinical progress and criminal justice status. Upon completion of the treatment program, selected inmates may transition to work release status, with an additional 28 beds allocated for this purpose.
Reality House's innovative model aims to address substance abuse issues within the criminal justice system, offering comprehensive support and rehabilitation to individuals in need. Through its unique approach and commitment to therapeutic principles, Reality House strives to facilitate lasting recovery and successful reintegration into society.
