The Fresno County North Jail is a detention center located at 1265 "M" St Fresno, CA which is operated locally by the Fresno County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Fresno County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, Fresno Police Department, and the US Marshal's Service.
New detainees arrive at the jail regularly, with some being released on bail, placed under pretrial services caseloads, supervised by probation agencies, or released on recognizance with a court appearance agreement. Inmate Programs - The Jail Programs & Services Bureau seeks to enhance the welfare of inmates through a number of programs. Program eligibility may be limited to certain security classifications. Academic education is available to all inmates.
Academic and Life Skills - The Delma Graves Adult School is administered by the Fresno County Office of Education and offers Literacy, Adult Basic Education/General Education Development (ABE/GED), English as a Second Language (ESL), and Personal Skills Development (Life Skills) education.

Visiting - Social visits are normally non-contact, conducted through a visit window using telephone handsets. Visiting for each week begins on Saturday and runs through Friday. Each facility has a visit schedule that specifies the days and times available for inmate social visits and are subject to change without notice. Refer to the specific facility’s visit schedule.

The following housing units will visit in the bond rooms (with video visitation as a supplemental option) Monday through Sunday 0800 AM- 0515 PM: AJ 2D, AJ2G1, AJ2G4, AJ3B, AJ3G3, AJ3G4, and AJ4E.
Required Identification
With the exception of minor children, all visitors are required to have proper identification. Acceptable forms of identification are limited to:

Rules for Visiting
The following visit regulations must be observed:
Visitors who do not follow the visiting rules or who are rude, disruptive or disrespectful to staff may be subject to having their visit denied, terminated, or have their name permanently removed from an inmate's visiting list. Any visitor under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be allowed to visit and will be subject to arrest.
Visitor Dress Code - Visitor dress rules apply equally to male and female visitors. Visitors shall remain fully clothed when visiting. Appropriate attire includes undergarments; a dress or blouse/shirt with skirt/pants or shorts; and shoes or sandals.

Hospital Visits - Hospitalized inmates will not be allowed to have personal visits, except as approved by a Watch Commander. Special visits may be arranged for those inmates who experience hospital stays in excess of thirty (30) days duration or for those having life-threatening or critical injuries or illnesses. Visits are restricted to immediate family members.
Pregnant inmates may request to have a support person present during childbirth. The approval for the support person will rest with the Watch Commander and will be granted on a case-by-case review. After giving birth, the appointed guardian of the infant and/or family members may be permitted to visit the inmate in the hospital with the approval of the Watch Commander.
If the inmate is authorized to receive visitors, visiting will be in accordance with both the hospital's and the Jail's visiting policies and will be monitored by the assigned officer.
