The facilities provide educational services including high school diploma and GED programs as well as vocational programs and substance abuse services. An estimated 70% to 85% of the state’s juvenile offenders require substance abuse services. To address substance abuse issues, both facilities operate “The Matrix,” an intensive treatment approach for substance abuse and dependency.
Other rehabilitative services include programming for mental illness, developmental delay, violent offenders, sex offenders, independent living, parenting and behavior management.
Juvenile facilities overseen by the State of Kansas do not publish the names of the offenders housed in their facility. As such, there is no public forum for this information.
