Operational since 2004, the Long Beach Community Reentry Center (LBCRC) administers a Male Community Reentry Program (MCRP) tailored for parolees, delivering personalized reintegration services in strict adherence to the MCRP contract. The facility holds licensure and certification from the Department of Health Care Services, enabling the provision of non-medical adult alcohol and/or drug abuse recovery and treatment services.
**Scope of Work:**
Residents are mandated to complete a minimum of 25 hours of individual and group sessions weekly, alongside six hours of supplementary programming, inclusive of participation in self-help groups. CoreCivic Reentry Services' residential programs furnish temporary housing, monitoring, and transitional services for adult male reentrants across the nation, operating within safe and secure residential settings. LBCRC's services are available seven days a week, providing structured flexibility to address reentrant risks and needs, aligning with agency objectives.
**Services:**
Offerings at the Long Beach Center encompass individual risk/needs assessment, cognitive & thinking skills training, substance abuse education, anger & stress management, parenting skills, individual & group counseling, victim awareness, budgeting & money management, motivational enhancement, alumni & aftercare programs, community services referrals, job readiness, and HIV/STD awareness.
The MCRP represents a voluntary opportunity for male inmates with approximately 365 days remaining on their sentences. Eligible inmates committed to state prison have the option to serve the conclusion of their sentences within the community instead of in state confinement. The program is structured to facilitate access to an array of community-based rehabilitative services, covering substance use disorders, mental health care, medical care, employment, education, housing, family reunification, and social support, thereby assisting participants in successful reentry and recidivism reduction.
Inmates with approximately 365 days (but no fewer than 30 days) remaining on their state prison sentences may volunteer for placement, subject to specific eligibility criteria. Those deemed eligible undergo review by the Institutional Classification Committee and, if approved, are referred to the Classification Staff Representative for endorsement. Mandatory electronic monitoring is required for all participants, with consent being a prerequisite for placement.
**Residential Treatment:**
Residential treatment programs at LBCRC are structured to provide general and specialized nonhospital-based interdisciplinary services round-the-clock for individuals with behavioral health or co-occurring needs, including intellectual or developmental disabilities. These programs aim to integrate individuals back into the community and foster independent living whenever possible, incorporating family or support system involvement whenever feasible. Services are delivered in a safe, trauma-informed, recovery-focused environment, facilitating community integration and independent living. Residential treatment options may include domestic violence treatment homes, nonhospital addiction treatment centers, or other nonmedical settings.
