The Marion County IN Jail is a medium-security detention center located at 40 S Alabama St Indianapolis, IN which is operated locally by the Marion County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Marion County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, municipalities, the US Marshal's Service and the Indianapolis Police Department who do not have their own long-term lock-up.

Covid Visitation Information

As of March 18, 2020, registration and visitation rules have changed to protect inmates at Marion County IN Jail and their loved ones during the COVID-19 outbreak.
