The Bolivar Co Regional Correctional is a low/medium-security detention center located at 2792 Hwy 8 West Cleveland, MS which is operated locally by the Bolivar Regional Authority and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates have been here for less than five years. Bolivar Co Regional Correctional accepts inmates from the Bolivar County Sheriff's arrests and surrounding towns, Cleveland Police Department, and the US Marshal's Service.
New detainees arrive at the jail regularly, with some being released on bail, placed under pretrial services caseloads, supervised by probation agencies, or released on recognizance with a court appearance agreement. The BCCF commenced operations in May 2002 to manage and supervise up to 250 adult male state inmates in a medium-security prison setting, under a contractual agreement with the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC).
BCCF offers a range of inmate programs aimed at rehabilitation and skill development. These include Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation programs lasting six months, GED programs to facilitate high school equivalency diploma attainment, Basic Construction courses, and Anger Management sessions. Additionally, inmates have access to literacy programs, Pre-Release Life Skills training, Discipleship programs for spiritual development, and Basic and Advanced Computer Skills courses. Religious services and an inmate library are also provided to support inmate growth and development.
