The MCCF is a low/medium-security detention center located at 503 S Main St Columbia, MS which is operated locally by the Marion Regional Authority and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates have been here for less than five years. MCCF accepts inmates from the Marion County Sheriff's arrests and surrounding towns, Columbia Police Department, and the US Marshal's Service.

New detainees arrive at the jail regularly, with some being released on bail, placed under pretrial services caseloads, supervised by probation agencies, or released on recognizance with a court appearance agreement. Those who are not released await their court appearances at the jail, receiving accommodations including bedding and meals. You can see all the arrest records for Mississippi here.

MWCCF is a medium custody regional institution housing both long-term state commitments and pre-trial detainees. Inmates have the opportunity to pursue educational advancement by earning a GED and participating in vocational courses, particularly in basic automotive repair and maintenance. Additionally, the facility offers substance abuse treatment programs and facilitates religious services for spiritual development and support.

A variety of programs are available to inmates at MWCCF. These include Alcohol & Drug Counseling, Basic Auto Mechanics training, and Religious Services. Educational opportunities extend to Adult Basic Education (ABE), Building Trades, and Pre-Release preparation to equip inmates with essential life skills for successful reintegration into society upon release. Short-term Alcohol & Drug rehabilitation programs are also provided, along with opportunities for spiritual growth through Discipleship and Understanding Islam sessions.

Marion-Walthall County Regional Correctional Facility goes beyond traditional correctional education offerings by partnering with Gulf Coast Bible College to offer inmates the chance to pursue associate, bachelor, master, and even doctorate degrees. Additionally, inmates have access to courses such as Grace for Addiction to support their journey toward rehabilitation and recovery. Correspondence coursework further enriches inmates' educational experiences, providing them with avenues for personal and intellectual growth during their incarceration.
