The South Louisiana ICE Processing Center, formerly known as the South Louisiana Correctional Facility, is a privately owned and operated prison facility situated in Acadia Parish, Louisiana. Managed by The GEO Group, Inc., it can accommodate up to 1,000 inmates.
Initially, the facility housed inmates for the Louisiana Department of Corrections, accommodating both male and female individuals across various security levels, including minimum, medium, and maximum, it served as a correctional institution for state inmates.
In April 2019, The GEO Group, Inc. announced a contract modification with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement for the reactivation of the facility. Under this modification, the facility was repurposed to house male and female ICE detainees awaiting immigration court hearings and deportation proceedings.
