The Potomac Highlands Regional Jail is a low/medium-security detention center located at 13 Dolin Dr Augusta, WV which is operated locally by the Grant Regional Authority and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates have been here for less than five years. Potomac Highlands Regional Jail accepts inmates from the Grant County Sheriff's arrests and surrounding towns, Augusta Police Department, and the US Marshal's Service.
New detainees arrive at the jail regularly, with some being released on bail, placed under pretrial services caseloads, supervised by probation agencies, or released on recognizance with a court appearance agreement. Additionally, inmates incarcerated due to parole revocation for a new felony conviction or serving consecutive/concurrent sentences in another jurisdiction are not eligible for the program.
