Can I send mail if a prison is not in directory

I want to add an inmate to my list but the prison is not included in your directory. He is at SCF-Sterling, CO. Your directory says SCF-Sterling is in Logan, CO. I don't believe that's the same prison is it? Does that mean I can't send him a letter from your site?

Yes, you can still send a letter even if the facility listing looks off or is not showing correctly in the directory.

SCF Sterling, CO refers to Sterling Correctional Facility, which is located in Sterling, Colorado. Logan County is the county where Sterling is located, so both references are pointing to the same prison. That part is just a geographic labeling issue, not a different facility.

Our inmate profiles are created and managed by users, so occasionally a facility name or location may be entered slightly differently or need updating. That does not prevent you from using the service.

If you cannot find his exact profile, you have two options:

  • Send us his full name and we will correct or create the profile so it matches the proper facility
  • Create or follow his profile yourself and enter the correct facility details

Once the inmate is properly listed, you can send letters, photos, or postcards through InmateAid without any issue. Our system prints and mails everything directly to the facility using the correct mailing format.

If you are unsure about the exact facility or want to double check before sending, you can also run a quick search using a service like TruthFinder to confirm his current location.

If you want, send me his name and I will help make sure the profile is set up correctly so you can start writing right away.
