My inmate is having problems with his tooth and thinks he may need a root canal. Does he need to get dental insurance? He was told that if he goes to the dentist then his money he gets and has on his books will be taken to pay for the dental work. Is this true?  Thanks for helping

The county jails do not accept any form of health insurance - and it's because your insurance doesn't cover you while incarcerated. If he needs dental work or especially a root canal, then he will definitely have money taken from his account to cover the cost. There are some county jails where the inmates even have to pay for their incarceration - a daily rate.
