My son is at Carver Center in OKC. I spoke to him last week and he said he had been out walking, trying to find a job that day. I don't understand the way all of this is happening, Are they allowed to just leave the center and walk or take a bus alone?

This sounds like some sort of work release program. He is probably a few months from the door and they are allowing him to get a job before he's out so that his re-entry will be smooth and successful. Getting a job after you've been locked-up is hard. The ones that get jobs and keep them are the ones that are least likely to re-offend, violate or just feel hopeless and commit another crime to pay the bills.

InmateAid has a new service focused on jobs from major companies for ex-offenders, or people with felony convictions finding it hard to get hired. All you have to do is provide your inmate's information and location, we will text you with live, real jobs in their area immediately as they become available. We have opportunities in major cities now, so try it out, there's NO COST and NO OBLIGATION
