What I should expect when he gets out and will there be fees

My husband is currently incarcerated and has been away for almost 5 years....he is a RSO, and its REALLY hard for me to find an apartment for him to be able to qualify for as well as what I've researched are his 'restrictions' living wise..... I need more information, I need to know what I should expect when he gets out and if there will be fees , and what exactly are his housing restrictions....or if there is a way I can talk to a parole officer.....I personally do not have ANY background involving incarceration, so I only have what I can find, and its barely even a handful of information....... I'm working two full time jobs and i want to make sure i get an apartment that fits for him because I cant really afford to mess up location wise..... Please, ANY information would be amazing....I just want my husband home..... Thank you in advance, Worried Wife

The probation officer will contact you when they begin their due diligence on whether the living arrangements are suitable for release living. Obviously there can be no drugs, alcohol or firearms and the location needs to be in an area that is evident to a reasonable person to be a safe neighborhood. Anything resembling a gang area, a drug trafficking area or near extensive nightlife activities will be cause for rejection. Use your best judgement, find a suburban location where it appears that nice families are living and you will be fine.
