Which Account Do You Add Money to for InmateAid Phone Calls?

Hi, I need to know where to send more money for the phone service my son is using? I set it up with your site and got a local number but I also paid, I believe, GTL too. Since I do have both accounts, who do I pay to add minutes to his service??? I look forward to hearing from you and many thanks, in advance, for your response!

When you have both an InmateAid account and a GTL account set up for phone service, the two work together rather than independently and understanding which one handles what makes the process straightforward.

GTL is the phone provider that actually connects the calls. To add minutes or funds for your son to use when calling, that deposit goes into your GTL account at connectnetwork.com. That is where the call credits live and where you go when the balance needs to be replenished.

InmateAid's role in the setup is providing the local phone number that reduces the cost of calls compared to the standard long distance rate GTL would otherwise charge. The number you received from InmateAid needs to be added to your GTL account so that calls placed to that number route correctly and the discounted rate applies.

If you signed up for the Q-Plan through InmateAid that subscription covers 1,000 long distance minutes per month and bills every three months automatically. That charge comes through InmateAid separately from whatever you deposit into your GTL account for call credits.

The short version is this. InmateAid handles the local number and the subscription billing on a quarterly basis. GTL at connectnetwork.com handles the actual call credits that your son draws from when he places a call. Both need to have the correct information linked to each other for the discounted rate to work properly.

If anything looks off or calls are not connecting at the expected rate, reaching out to InmateAid support with both account details is the fastest way to confirm everything is configured correctly on both ends.
