We hear this one a lot and the honest answer is volume. Thousands of questions come through Ask The Inmate and the queue moves based on uniqueness and priority rather than the strict order of submission.

Questions that cover ground already addressed in the public archive get deprioritized because the answer is already out there and searchable. Before waiting on a response it is worth browsing the existing Q&A archive to see if your question or something very close to it has already been answered. Chances are good that it has.

Questions that raise a genuinely new angle, cover a specific situation that has not come up before, or touch on a topic the archive has not addressed thoroughly get moved to the front. That is where the most value gets added for the broader community of people searching for answers.

If your question has been sitting for a while and you believe it covers something unique that is not already in the archive, consider rephrasing it with more specific detail. The more context you provide the easier it is to identify your question as distinct from the thousands of similar ones already answered and get it prioritized accordingly.

The goal is to build the most useful and comprehensive resource possible for families navigating the prison system. Every answer that gets published helps not just the person who asked but everyone who finds it through a search later. Patience goes a long way here, just like it does for the families and loved ones this platform was built to serve.
