InmateAid has compiled a number of resources that a person accused of a crime or an inmate whom has already been convicted of a crime will need. For instance, most people know that they are given legal representation if they cannot afford it but probably wasn't aware that they may also be provided an investigator that will work for their defense even after law enforcement or prosecutors have finished. Many wrongful convictions get overturned by the efforts of investigators. Inmates without resources have the right to hire an investigator to research their case (provided that the request is not frivolous).
