Juelz Santana has been indicted on weapons charges following his gun bust in March.

According to the Associated Press, NYC rapper Juelz Santana was indicted Wednesday on two federal firearms charges after authorities said he brought a loaded .38-caliber Derringer to Newark Liberty International Airport. Santana, whose real name is Laron L. James, is accused of possessing a firearm as a convicted felon and attempting to carry a weapon onto an airplane.

Back in early March, airport security found a loaded .38-caliber handgun and unprescribed oxycodone pills in a carry-on bag containing his identification. Juelz eventually fled the scene when he was caught, leaving the two bags behind. He later turned himself into the police three days later after being on the “run.”

Santana initially faced both state and federal charges, but the state charges were dismissed after Essex County prosecutors said they would defer to federal authorities.

Santana had pleaded not guilty to state charges, but we’ll continue to keep you posted on all the latest moving forward. In the meantime, check out a recent interview with Juelz right here where he talks about his return to Dipset & more.
